About us

After the first threshing floors were carved into the beautiful Rotlay rock, the first malting in Bad Kreuznach was put into operation in 1878.

The location was strategically planned. After all, the railway line was built only a few years earlier and Kreuznach became a bridge region for the Palatinate, Hunsrück, Rheinhessen and Rhineland. And the train station was just a stone´s throw away.

The threshing floors still exist, of course, but malt is nowadays produced in modern tower malthouse.

In 2004 the malting was for sale.

The Stumpf family, which has been operating a land trade in Fürfeld (Rheinhessen) for serveral generations, took over the malting. Since then, it has been led by Michael Stumpf.
